Airline clubs aim to offer an escape for travelers from the stresses of flying. However, not all airline clubs are created equal. Our goal is to visit as many as possible and keep you informed on your next trip. Today we will be reviewing the LAX Terminal 4 Admirals Club before going over all the possible ways to get in on your next trip.

Seating

The LAX Terminal 4 Admirals Club has multiple options for sitting. These range from arm chairs, to tables and chairs, high top tables, bar seats, and lounge chairs. The lounge was pretty crowded in the early going but I didn’t notice anyone having issues with finding a seat, as long as they were willing to walk around the side.

If the lounge had a few more tables for either eating or working, it would be nice, but I wouldn’t say this is a deal breaker. Also of note, this lounge is currently undergoing renovations so upon completion the seating arrangements could improve more.

Location

For anyone departing out of Terminal 4 the location of this club is excellent. It is a short walk to all of the gates and offers a great view of the tarmac with planes parked at the gates below. The biggest issue for the location arises for anyone with a flight departing out of the Tom Bradley International Terminal.  In the image above the Tom Bradley International Terminal is the one visible out the window across from the club. This terminal is actually amazing with multiple airport lounges of its own, but if your flight is leaving from this terminal you will want to allow anywhere from 15-30 minutes for the walk depending on your gate.

Food & Drink 

All Admirals clubs are very similar when it comes to this topic. They offer the same complimentary food options along with complimentary soda, juice, water, and well drinks from the bar. I would say this particular Admirals club ranks slightly higher than some of the others I have been to in this department due to its nice long open bar. The high arched ceiling with a lot of natural light is also a nice touch.Since I was there in the morning they had the breakfast spread out, which includes fruit, yogurt, toasted bagels, pound cake, cereal, and hard-boiled eggs. The club also has breakfast items for purchase. I stuck with the complimentary selection as I found it adequate enough to fill me up for breakfast.

Also of note, later in the day they ended up rolling out a complimentary guacamole bar that was actually quite delicious. Highly recommend it if they have it out while you are there.

Amenities

Admirals clubs are known for having the basic amenities, but nothing really above and beyond that. I found this club to have wi-fi good enough to work and stream videos on, enough power outlets where I didn’t have any issues finding one, and a full row of showers for use if necessary. To use one you simply need to go to the front desk and they will give you a shower key. However, the one part about this club that really lowered it for me was the size of the restroom. For this entire club at LAX they only had one restroom with 3 stalls. Both times I attempted to use the restroom there was a line and I heard multiple people complaining about the set up of the restrooms in this clubThis Admirals club also had a section in the rear designated for International First Class passengers. This was as far as I could get since I wasn’t flying International First Class. However, I would say if you are then I would certainly recommend attempting to use the British Airways First Class Lounge in Tom Bradley International instead since they are a part of the Oneworld alliance.

Club Staff

This is one of the areas this Admirals Club really stood out for me. On this particular day I ended up having an 11 hour delay due to a series of mechanical issues. Because of this I had many questions and issues come up throughout the day and they were always extremely accommodating and more than happy to help me in any way they could. I realize this may not be the case for everyone when they go but my personal experience with the club staff was excellent.I also received great service from the bar tenders and servers walking around the club. Everyone seemed to be in a good mood and the the servers were very attentive in refilling drinks for not only myself, but other people around me. 

How can you get in the Admirals Club?

Admirals Club locations offer many ways to gain entry.

1. Admirals Club yearly membership
2. Admirals Club day pass
3. Flying in either Business Class or First Class Internationally
4. Flying Internationally as a Platinum, Platinum Pro, or Executive Platinum Member
5. Owner of the Citi AAdvantage Executive Credit Card
6. Flying with anyone who has one of the above as they can bring in a guest free of charge

Final Thoughts

Overall I would say I had a very enjoyable experience in the lounge. The bottom line is its significantly better than waiting at the gate for your flight and you can save some money with the complimentary snacks and drinks. I really enjoyed the club atmosphere in this location and they also had an excellent staff working this day who did their best to accommodate my issues. I wouldn’t hesitate to return to this particular Admirals Club in the future.
